Main Street Sundays

On Sunday, 29 November 2026, about a kilometre of Main Street in Marshalltown, from Gandhi Square to Ntemi Piliso Street, closes to cars and opens to walkers, cyclists, skaters and families. The day includes Make a Gift Jozi craft workshops, heritage walks with local guides, food traders, live music and play areas for children, ending with a countdown to the festive lights switch-on.

It runs from 10am to 6:30pm. Entry is free but you need to RSVP via Jozi My Jozi. Parking is at Standard Bank on Frederick Street, or take the Gautrain to Park Station and the free midibus to Main Street.
