Delete your data
You can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you. We respond within 30 days, as required by the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

From inside the app
The fastest way to delete your account and personal data is from inside the app:
- Open the More menu.
- Tap Account.
- Tap Delete account at the bottom of the page.
- Confirm. We log the request and queue your data for removal.
Your account becomes inaccessible immediately. Personal data is removed from our active systems within 30 days.
By email
If you prefer, email [email protected] from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my data". We will reply with a confirmation code, complete the deletion, and notify you when it is done.
To protect your account, we may ask for additional information to confirm your identity before we act.
What gets deleted
- Your profile, name, email, phone, photo and password.
- Your posts, comments, likes and messages.
- Your saved itineraries, bookmarks and preferences.
- Connected OAuth accounts (Google, Facebook) are unlinked.
What we have to keep
Some information must be retained for legal or accounting reasons. We keep it only as long as the law requires, and we restrict access to it:
- Bookings and orders: retained for 5 years (SA tax law). Your name is replaced with "Deleted user" in vendor records.
- Vendor payouts: if you were a vendor, payout history is retained for 5 years.
- Fraud and abuse records: retained as long as needed to protect the platform.
Facebook login users
If you registered with Facebook Login, you can also request deletion through Facebook's data deletion callback: open Facebook Settings, navigate to Apps and Websites, find Visit Gauteng, and choose Remove. We will receive the deletion request through Facebook and complete it within 30 days.
