The Sankayi Jazz Series is a premium, weekly live music event running every Friday throughout June 2026. Hosted at Sankayi Restaurant & Lounge in Morningside, Johannesburg, the series transforms the venue into an intimate, concert-style listening sanctuary that pairs world-class South African jazz with sophisticated dining.

June 2026 Artist Lineup The winter iteration showcases four revered voices in contemporary South African jazz: Friday, 5 June: Vuma Levin: An acclaimed guitarist and composer blending traditional South African sonic motifs with modern global jazz.

Friday, 12 June: Sydney Mavundla: A veteran trumpeter and bandleader delivering a warm, lyrical style rooted in church brass traditions. Friday, 19 June: Spha Mdlalose: A master storyteller and vocalist known for her deeply expressive, sophisticated fusion of classic jazz and African song.

Friday, 26 June: Ndabo Zulu: A multiple SAMA award-winning trumpeter and pioneer closing the series with forward-thinking arrangements.
