The Marabi Club
Tucked into the David Adjaye-designed Hallmark House on Maboneng's edge, The Marabi Club is one of Johannesburg's most atmospheric dining experiences. Named for the marabi jazz culture of 1920s and 1930s Johannesburg, it recreates a speakeasy supper-club mood with art-deco furnishings, low lighting, a cocktail bar and cigar lounge, and nightly live jazz from South African musicians.
The kitchen turns out a refined, seasonally evolving menu built on local produce, savoured over a long evening of music. An intimate, dress-up destination near the 702 Jozi My Jozi Walk the Talk route; reservations essential.
