Vendor Code of Conduct & Acceptable Use

Vendors and organisers represent Gauteng to visitors. We expect honesty, professionalism, lawful conduct and good service. This Code is part of your agreement with the Gauteng Tourism Authority (GTA), which operates the Visit Gauteng platform. Breach may lead to suspension or removal.

• List goods/experiences truthfully, with accurate descriptions, photos, pricing and availability.

  • Do not use misleading 'from' prices, fake scarcity, or false reviews.

  • Disclose all material terms and any restrictions before purchase.

• Respond to enquiries and booking requests promptly.

  • Honour confirmed bookings and orders; dispatch goods on time.

  • Deliver experiences and products to the standard advertised.

  • Treat customers fairly and resolve complaints in good faith.

• Comply with all applicable laws, permits and licences.

  • Do not list prohibited or restricted items except in compliance with the Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy.

  • Maintain safety standards and required insurance for higher-risk goods and events.

Do not discriminate unlawfully against customers or staff. Harassment, hate speech and abusive behaviour are not tolerated on the platform or in dealings with customers.

Use customer personal information only to fulfil orders and provide the service, keep it secure, and never sell it or use it for unsolicited marketing without consent, in line with POPIA and your operator obligations.

Use the Visit Gauteng / GTA name and marks only as permitted; do not imply official endorsement you do not have. Do not engage in fraud, fee circumvention (taking transactions off-platform to avoid commission), or manipulation of ratings.

We may warn, suspend, remove listings, or terminate accounts that breach this Code, with the severity matched to the breach, and may report unlawful conduct to the authorities.
