Event Organiser Agreement

Additional terms for organisers selling event tickets through Visit

Effective: to be confirmed on approval

Interim version. This document reflects current commercial decisions and is published in good faith for transparency. It is not yet final. Final terms will be confirmed after sign-off by South African counsel and the Gauteng Tourism Authority. If you have legal queries in the meantime, contact [email protected].

1

Relationship to the Vendor Agreement

This agreement supplements the Vendor/Merchant Agreement for organisers who sell event tickets through the Visit Gauteng platform operated by Mind Interactive Holdings (Pty) Ltd (trading as Mind Interactive). Where they conflict on event matters, this agreement prevails. You are the supplier and organiser of your events.

2

Event warranties

  • You hold all required municipal permits, licences and approvals for the event.

    • You carry public-liability insurance appropriate to the event size, with proof on request.

    • You comply with crowd-safety, health and emergency requirements and venue rules.

    • You lawfully enforce any age restrictions and entry conditions.

3

Ticketing and disclosures

Your event listing must disclose, per section 43 of the ECT Act, the organiser, total price including fees, date/venue, entry and age conditions, and the cancellation/refund terms. You must honour the Events & Ticketing Terms and Cancellation & Refund Policy.

4

Cancellation, postponement and refunds

If you cancel or materially change an event, ticket-holders are entitled to a refund of amounts paid. You fund such refunds from your proceeds or on demand. A force-majeure clause may allocate organiser costs but does not remove ticket-holders' refund rights for an event that does not take place.

5

Payouts and holdbacks

Ticket proceeds are collected through the registered processor and paid out on the agreed schedule. We may hold back a reserve until after the event to cover refunds, chargebacks and disputes.

6

Safety, liability and indemnity

You are responsible for the safe running of the event and indemnify the GTA and Mind Interactive against claims arising from the event, including injury, non-performance and permit failures. The Platform is the ticketing channel, not the event organiser or host.

7

Suspension and removal

We may remove an event or suspend an organiser that lacks permits/insurance, poses a safety risk, or breaches this agreement, and may inform attendees and authorities where necessary.
