Events & Ticketing Terms

The terms on which you buy tickets to events listed on Visit Gauteng.

Effective: to be confirmed on approval

1

Scope and who runs the event

These terms apply to tickets bought through Visit Gauteng. Events fall into three types, and the responsible party differs:

  • Information-only listings: free GTA-curated listings with no ticket sale; we are the publisher.

  • Organiser ticketed events: a third-party organiser sells the ticket and runs the event; we are the ticketing channel and the organiser is the supplier.

  • GTA-run paid events: the GTA runs the event and is the supplier.

Each event listing states which type it is, so you know who is responsible.

2

Buying tickets

  • Prices are in Rand and include VAT unless stated; the total, including fees, is shown before you pay.

    • Payment is processed by PayFast; your ticket is valid once payment is approved.

    • Tickets are issued to your account and by email; do not share or duplicate them, duplicated tickets may be refused at entry.

3

Entry conditions

Entry is subject to the organiser's conditions, which may include age restrictions, security searches, prohibited items, and venue rules. You must be able to present a valid ticket. Age-restricted events require proof of age; entry may be refused without it. The organiser may refuse entry for safety, capacity or conduct reasons in line with the law.

4

Cancellation, postponement and refunds

If you cancel, the section 17 tiers in our Cancellation & Refund Policy apply. If the event is cancelled, you are entitled to a refund of the ticket price. If the event is postponed, you may attend on the new date or take a refund. Booking/service fees are refunded where the event does not take place.

5

Changes to the event

Organisers may make minor changes to line-up, programme or timing without a refund being due. Material changes that fundamentally alter the event are treated like a cancellation for refund purposes.

6

Your safety and conduct

Follow the organiser's and venue's safety instructions. Some events carry inherent risk; you attend voluntarily. Unlawful or dangerous behaviour may result in removal without refund.

7

Liability

The organiser is responsible for the event. To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, the GTA's liability for organiser-run events is limited as set out in the Terms of Service. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act.

8

Complaints

Contact the organiser first; if unresolved, email [email protected] within 7 days. We mediate in good faith. Your CPA rights are unaffected.
