Notice & Takedown Policy

This policy explains how rights-holders and members of the public can tell us about unlawful content on the Platform, such as infringing listings, photos or posts, so that we can act quickly.

Send takedown notices to the Gauteng Tourism Authority, marked "Takedown notice", by email to admin@visitgauteng.net or by hand or post to Transwerke Building, 2 Sam Hancock Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg.

In line with section 77 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, your notice must be in writing and include:

• your full name and address;

• your signature (an electronic signature is acceptable);

• the content concerned and where it appears (for example the link);

• the right you say has been infringed;

• the action you want us to take;

• your telephone number and email address;

• a statement that you are acting in good faith; and

• a statement that the information in your notice is true and correct to the best of your knowledge.

Knowingly submitting a false notice may make you liable for any resulting damage.

When we receive a valid notice we act promptly to remove or disable access to the content while the matter is considered. Where appropriate, we tell the person who posted it and give them a chance to respond.

If your content was removed and you believe it is lawful, send us a counter-notice with your contact details and your reasons. We will consider it and may restore the content.

We may suspend or close the accounts of users who repeatedly post infringing or unlawful content.
