Marketplace Buyer Terms

These terms apply when you buy products in the Visit Gauteng Marketplace. They apply together with the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, the Returns, Refunds & Defects Policy and the Shipping & Delivery Policy.

Products in the Marketplace are sold by independent local vendors, named on each listing. Your contract of sale is with the vendor. The Gauteng Tourism Authority (GTA) runs the Marketplace and acts for the vendors: it collects payment as merchant of record, and stores, packs and dispatches many products from its fulfilment warehouse in Gauteng. When you pay the GTA, you have paid the vendor.

• Each listing shows the vendor, a description of the product and the price in Rand, including VAT where applicable.

  • The delivery cost and the total you will pay are shown before you pay.

  • Vendors are responsible for the accuracy of their listings. If a listing looks wrong, tell us at admin@visitgauteng.net.

  • If a price is obviously wrong because of an error, we will tell you before dispatch and you may cancel for a full refund.

• Payments are processed by Paystack. We do not see or store your full card details.

  • Your order is confirmed once your payment is approved. You receive an order confirmation, and an invoice or receipt, by email and in your account.

  • If a product turns out to be unavailable after you have paid, we cancel that item and refund you in full.

Orders are delivered by courier, or collected from the vendor where offered, under the Shipping & Delivery Policy. Ownership of the goods passes to you when you pay. Risk passes to you when the goods are delivered to you or collected by you.

Your right to cancel within 7 days of delivery, and your rights if goods are defective, unsafe or not as described, are set out in the Returns, Refunds & Defects Policy. They cannot be reduced by any vendor.

Vendors may not sell items prohibited by the Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy. If you see a listing that seems to break it, tell us.

Contact us through your account (Orders) or at admin@visitgauteng.net. We coordinate with the vendor and the courier to resolve the problem. This does not limit your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

The vendor is responsible for the product. The GTA's liability is limited as set out in the Terms of Service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
