Soweto Derby: Orlando Pirates vs Kaizer Chiefs

The Soweto Derby returns to FNB Stadium on Saturday 31 October 2026 as Orlando Pirates host Kaizer Chiefs in the first league meeting of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season — South African football’s greatest occasion. Kick-off time will be confirmed closer to the date, and the return fixture is set for 13 March 2027. No fixture in African club football matches the derby for scale, noise and colour: 90,000 fans, pre-match parades, co-ordinated card displays and a split of loyalties that is always 50/50 inside the calabash. Even neutrals leave converted. Derby tickets historically sell out within days — sometimes hours — so watch the PSL’s official channels for the on-sale date and avoid street resellers. Arrive early for the atmosphere and use park-and-ride, Rea Vaya or e-hailing on match day.
